Eric Dehm is a native of Stamford, Connecticut currently living in New York where he is a producer for the world famous 1010 WINS News Radio in NYC. Previously he was the Monday Morning Drive host and Program Director of Talk, Sports and Informational Radio at the national non-commercial radio station of the year, WRHU-FM on Long Island.
In between growing up in Connecticut and his current life in New York, Eric traveled the world during a 13 year career as a Mass Communications Specialist in the US Navy. During this time he was stationed in 5 countries on 3 continents including a tour of duty in Afghanistan. His military life having concluded, Eric moved on to fully engage himself in his true professional love: Broadcasting.
Growing up in the NYC radio market, Eric was exposed to a wide variety of programming and radio became a particularly important influence on his life. From Imus to Opie & Anthony to Mike & The Mad Dog to NPR and all that's in between, Eric voraciously consumed everything he could get his ears on and knew from a very young age that he would one day be on the air.
That day came in 1999 when Eric arrived at his first duty Station in the Navy: Naval Media Center Keflavik, Iceland. Over the next 13 years, he would accrue over 7,000 hours of radio on-air time, take thousands of photos and produce hundreds of television and radio news stories, while also managing the men and women assigned to work under him.
Following an Honorable Discharge from the Navy in 2011, Eric turned his attention to his education, earning his A.A. in Journalism from Norwalk (CT) Community College before enrolling at Hofstra University (NY) to pursue his B.A. in Radio Production & Studies.
While at Hofstra, Eric was selected to join the staff of the #1 College Station and #1 Non-Commercial station in the nation: Radio Hofstra University (WRHU-FM). He would immediately make his presence felt in the summer of 2014 as an energetic, entertaining and thought-provoking host of WRHU's popular Morning Wake-Up Call radio show. In addition to hosting the show, in January 2015 Eric was hired as WRHU's Program Director of Talk, Sports & Informational programming.
Eric also helped launch RequiredRadio.com, Hofstra's first internet radio station. His overall expertise helped guide the station to success while his talents produced two of RequiredRadio's most popular programs: "Push Play" a multimedia review show and "Best of MWC" A weekly recap of highlights from sister-station WRHU's morning show.
Upon graduating Cum Laude with a B.A. in Communications/Radio Production & Studies, Eric immediately joined the 1010 WINS team.
Eric currently lives on Long Island with his wife and son. He enjoys spending time with his family, SCUBA diving, riding his Harley and arguing/discussing news, sports, politics and current events with anyone who will listen.
